Your body speaks is a way of moving where freedom and expression are welcomed into the space. Your body, mind and soul are present with you, helping to discover what it is that you need to know next. Your body becomes the narrator of your life and it tells not your fabricated story but the one you have been born to live in this world. Movement cannot be faked, so when you move, you are showing who you really are. And, who are you?

This might feel confusing for you, and probably vulnerable too as we are so entangled in our limiting beliefs that makes us so judgemental towards others and ourselves even thinking that we have the power or telling others who they are. When we live in this state, we can’t see our potential in their full expansion, so we start looking for perfection on what we already have, focusing on the past but moving forwards at the same time.

This contradiction (and probably a headache) is a warning call from your body to anchor. Your body carries as much or more information as your mind, so make sure you are up-to-date with it to feel aligned. When we are in our bodies we are present, providing us with a state in which worry dissolves, leaving space and energy for the statement that really matters…I am alive. Now enter the endless upgoing spiral of life and let yourself be carried by love.

Your Body Speaks

Journal

Find connection

The connection between Mind-Body-Soul allows us to be in our creative flow more easily as the energy moves from one to another, supporting every step with what we need in that very moment.

Start by touching and visualising connecting these 3 points before any movement practice:
— Mind. Envision, WHAT do I want to do.
— Heart. Find the reason to do it, ask yourself WHY.
— Core. Take action, HOW can you do it.

After this, improvise, let your body’s voice speak to you.
Be grateful, be open, trust, and your body will take care of you.

Find your space

We all have what I like calling “my little bubble”. This is the space that you occupy with the 3 body planes. By working on this, your energy will be amplified, and therefore, rippling your power out to the world like a sound wave!

Start by rooting your feet to the ground in a parallel position and visualise these planes:
— Sagittal plane, dividing your body in right and left sections.
— Coronal plane, dividing your body in front and back sections.
— Transversal plane, dividing you body in upper body and legs (like a table).

Now imagine you want to touch this bubble and expand it out with your movement. Feel how much energy you move around.

Remember that the bigger you are willing to give out, the bigger you are willing to receive.

Release vs Transform

We believe that releasing “bad” emotions will make us free but, does it really?
Have you noticed the pattern? How many times do you need to release the same emotion? How exhausted do you feel afterwards?

When you release something, you automatically expect that it never comes back because you have done the work. Do you think this is possible with emotions? What is actually happening is that your body feels so drained from the effort that signals to your brain to not do it again. So, every time you release, you build a wall to keep yourself away from those emotions, adding to your list of fears.

When you transform, you use that fuel to create something that means something to you. In this case, the signal to your brain will be something like “let’s do it again”. This way, you are feeding a flow in which every emotion is welcomed and have a creative purpose in your life.

Let your emotions show you the power of your creativity

The true self and posture

Staying true to yourself becomes difficult when you are worried about what others think about you. This is also reflected in your movement as you build a cage in which your expression becomes a burden that you carry everywhere you go. It doesn’t matter if you are a dancer or not, everyone moves, and if you observe how people move/walk, you can see the cages around them. Spoiler…check their posture!

Working in your posture will not only change your physicality but affect the way you present yourself to the world. Being willing to stand open to the unknown takes a lot of courage, specially if you are not strong in your own voice. So, what we do to soothe the anxiety of having to control everything and/or being judge by others? Putting a mask on to fit in whatever their ideas are and betray our true self in the process.

How many masks do you have?
How many times have you betrayed yourself for the seek of others approval
What is holding you back from stepping into your unique power?

The power of intention

Words can be manipulated, the body speaks without lies.

As a person who has struggled with verbal communication before, movement has been for me an amazing tool for navigating life. Learning how it works and how much power it carries has healed and keeps healing parts of myself…

Movement can be the vehicle for communication with others, a bridge in which intention becomes the common language between people. Even in a verbal conversation, intentions are received before words.

—Intention - Body reaction/action - Words —
If this order is shuffled around, our communication can be impacted massively.

When intentions come from the heart but get influenced by your mind on their way to your body, they can become a very sharp knife, leading to a spiral of manipulation to achieve everything we want from others.

Reading intentions can be a superpower!
